Where is local?
We shopped all over the place before settling on Kitchen Discounter in Mt. Airy. They have other locations as well.
FWIW: We started out looking at marble and ended up with Silestone

Baltimore - Big Brother's Marble and Granite. They did my kitchen. Prices were slightly better than some others but there service portfolio was not as robust as the 2 other providers I looked into. Our counter was very simple which was how I got comfortable with them.

Thanks for the replies.
I am in the Elkridge/Columbia area so anywhere within 30 - 45 minutes from there.

In Home Stone in Annapolis did all my installs. I did not want the norm granite so we went to NSI by BWI to pick out the slab and then In Home Stone does the cutting and install. Very pleased with both!

I used a guy in Hyattsville for all the granite I used in a 250 unit condo remodel project in DC and found his pricing to be untouched and his work was as good as anyone else's and if there is a problem he will fix it. Only problem is getting him to answer the phone but I do recommend him highly. However if you are on some time constrants then you may want to use someone else because his time and real time aren't excatly the same LOL. And I have no idea what the name of his company is but his name is Leon and his number is 240-694-6205 and tell him Benny told you to call.
Good luck

Thanks I will give him a call, but I am under time constraints as the island is built and just waiting on the top.

If you are looking for a first class custom job check out US Marble and Granite in beltsville. We work Virginia but bring in US Marble to do all of our granite/stone work on our custom kitchens/baths. First class all the way/never a problem or unhappy client. Its like everything else you don't get the same quality from all fabricators and it the little things that make the difference between an okay job and a great job. They have great pricing given the quality of workmanship they provide and they are not a high volume production shop. they have been in business over 50 years, and you don't have to worry about if you are getting one of the good crews or one of the "bad" crews.
