Hey gang,

Gonna do a little freshwater fishing today (29 Jan) in my kayak. It's a neighborhood lake...Haygood Point in Virginia Beach to be exact. I plan for starters just to drift large nightcrawlers on a drop shot rig on some drop-offs. Maybe try some gulp grubs too. Any other ideas I might try? I would imagine any fast lure retrieve method would not work in cold water.

Thanks!

Don

I did ok I guess. Got a few yellow perch drifting night crawlers. Not a sniff on any lure/jig I threw. Talked to a guy working in his yard. He said there are some 30' holes in there. I felt that I was in mostly 8-10'. I'm gonna get a clamp on depth machine.

I like a spinner bait with a colorado blade slow rolled in cold water. Congrats on the pullage.

Grub ( green pumpkin or salt & pepper) would be my first choice working it off the bottom. Might try a silver buddy if you can still find them.

Thanks for the tips guys. I did try a silver buddy...no joy. We have a few at our shop still...OE2. I just ordered a Hummingbird clamp on depth/temp unit. This should help me locate some deeper holes/ledges in there.
