I'm heading to the York Monday, planning on putting in at the Croaker ramp. I believe this is the same thing as the ramp at the York State Park?
Is there a bait shop between I-64 and the park? Any hazards, shallow areas, etc? I'm hoping there are signs from I-64 (from Richmond) to the park and/or ramp...?
Thanks!

The only thing between I64 and the ramp is a 7-11 and Garrett's
store on the left. I would get bait and tackle before heading to the ramp. There are places if you head towards Norge but that will be out of your way.

Hmmm, there are none on my way (that I know of). What is the closest to the exit I take off I-64?

You can get bait, ice , and tackle from Popes in
Sandston. This is right past the entance to the
airport ~1/2 mile.

Wasabi,
Just saw your post.
How did you do at Croaker Landing?
I could have posted the drill, but I guess I'm late.
I fished it Sunday and did OK. Biggest was 16.5 inches.
Mostly shrimp.
Shallow boat ramp on low tide.
and the bait shop at Croaker ( on the left going in) is closed on Sunday....
