I'm sorry that this question is way :offtopic: but I need :help: and don't know who to turn too in my time of need. Valentines day will be the 18th anaversary of my wedding day with My Lovely Bride....the former SWMBO. MLB wants to get away for the weekend and neither one of us knows where to go. I saw Hershey, Pa is having a Chocolate Covered February celebration this month. There are weekend packages at The Hotel at Hershey and the Hershey Lodge. Both are kind of expensive with Hotel Hershey $100 more expensive then the Hershey Lodge. I'll let you guess which one MLY seems too prefer. But if we do go to Hershey on Saturday and spend the night, what is there to do up there this time of year?? Or should I scrap the entire Hershey idea and go someplace else. This is REALLY IMPORTANT because my future permission slips :nono: are dependent on MLB having a good time (with me) :hugeachother: this weekend, or there will be no :fishing2: or Big black Tim McGraw Resistol for me :argue::argue:

Any Valetine related get away is a rip off. Even the cards - ever notice cards for women are twice as much ?

Here's what you do. Fix your bride a nice dinner at home. Full course - you serve her. Be sure she has her favorite bottle of wine or better yet - liquor.

After 7-8 drinks - sweep her up and throw her on the bed. Have at it like a wild man - ignoring her screams.
Next morning when she slaps you awake - get up , grab your fishing gear , put on your cowboy hat and shrug your shoulders. Tell her it was an honest mistake - you thought she wanted a Hersey highway Valetines.

My wife says that the spa at the Hotel Hershey will get you bonus points.

Good Luck

I'm in Lancaster and Hotel Hershey is know as a very nice place to stay. If the goal is to impress the wife you can't go wrong. My wife loves the spa as well.

Grew up in Hershey and worked at the Hotel Hershey...... To answer your question the Hotel Hershey is much nicer than the lodge. If you're going to stay at the lodge you're better off spending your money on another hotel in the area. The Hotel Hershey though is pretty nice, they just renovated it as well. As mentioned above they have a pretty respected Spa that will certainly get you bonus points; as well as a few pretty high end restaurants that again ought to pay for themselves come fishing season. Not sure what they have going on over at the Giant center but they normally attract some big name bands that might be fun to go ad catch. Hope this helps

Go. Get one of those heart shaped hot tubs and fill it full of bubbles, pour some champagne and tell her she looks like she did when she was twenty-two. Let her get in and get comfortable then come out wearing that ten-gallon hat you've been wanting. She'll love it, you get to keep the hat. Don't post the pictures.

You asked for alternatives as well, so I’ll pitch in my $.02. The Hyatt in Cambridge is Top Shelf for sure. It isn’t cheap either but if you call the staff in special events sometimes they can get you a deal. Their spa is also very very nice. It’s an easy drive and Suicide Bridge restaurant is about 20 minutes away. That’s the ticket!

If you really want to score points and let your wife have a great Valentines weekend.........give her the cash and let her take her best girlfriend to one of the Spas in Hershey:yes:..........Gary

They make chocolate there.

I had a 50th birthday party dinner for my wife at the Hotel Hershey. Very nice place. My son, who is quite the talker, also got them to take his mom on a free limo tour of Hershey.

Took her and my sons there for the Falconry Experience last fall. Really cool. But won't re-open for that until Spring.

Haven't stayed at the hotel, but do visit Hershey pretty regularly. One really big added bonus to this trip could be taking the day and letting your wife shop until she drops, as there are quite a few large outlet malls within about an hours drive. I have done this with my wife and scored major points, and I must say that the outlet malls that are up there do have really good prices. Even found some good clothes and shoes for myself. I am still riding the points I got for our last visit.

I got kicked out of the Hotel Hershey once. Vince McMahon & Hulk Hogan were there after some wrestling matches. My daughter wanted an autograph so we were outside the door with security and management still told them to boot us inorder to assure the patrons their privacy. It is a high class place. Also you can tour the chocolat factory or the horse races are a 20 minute drive at Penn National. At the track is also casino gambling in another building. During the summer the amusement park is open. A nice place and the town is one of the cleanest in the US.

My experience is that it really won't matter what you do because between then and fishing season you are bound to screw up somehow and we all know that one OH CRAP kills a thousand atta-boys!! LOL
