Anything-goes

On Thursday, a buddy and I went in search of some pickeral and crappie in a local lake, here i Southern Maryland. After landing three nice bass (biggest at 5.5, we decided to come back the next morning to target them. If someone told me that I would catch six bass in 45minutes, weighing an average of five pounds and in February for that matter, I wouldn't have believed them! My buddy managed two bass at two and three pounds before locating the bigguns and a five pounder when all hell broke loose for me. All fish were caught in four to five feet of water. Four of mine were caught on 4.5" forked Yum Dingers rigged wacky. His fish and two of mine were caught off bull minnows, intended for crappie! At one point, he was taking a picture of a 5 pounder of mine when both of our minnows got hit at the same time. They ended up being his 5 and my 6!
BTW - The wind was blowing pretty good. When the wind picks up, I often fish wacky style below a small float. My four where caught by simply raising my rod and twitching now and then. I let the waves and drift do the rest.
