Got out late Sunday afternoon after a weekend of travel to Salem VA family visits for a run across - first run of the year after moving the boat south to Gwynn's. Once we got out of the creek ( I will have to pay more attention as it is really shallow in some areas of Milford Haven) we had a short run across to the 42 area. Tide was running hard and we threw some Gillie rigs on the bottom with fresh croaker strips. Just about the time my flounder good luck charm friend Guy was giving me the dreaded "Wrong Place Charlie" speech we put a 21" in the boat. Next drift we nailed a 20" so the speeches and pointing to better areas to fish subsided and we concentrated on the matters at hand. We had to power troll some and picked up three more inside with the largest being a 24" 5 pound slab. Total for the day, 8 fish, five nice keepers, not a bad day for May. Boat ran well and the ride back was short and sweet. The hordes of no see ums at the dock forced a Monday morning fish cleaning at home. We both got a little heat from the wives as we were supposed to be home at 8 for dinner and we ended up bringing the next night's dinner home at 10.
Of course, Kevin, five out of eight fish hit the blue.
