Took an overnight trip to Mathews with a friend. We hoped to catch some specs, flounder, and/or red drum. We did not catch any of these, but we did catch modest numbers of 9 - 13" croaker and small spot in the mouth of East river and on various hard bottoms in the P'tank. Best fishing was in 15 - 23' of water in morning and evening.
Tide conditions were poor for shallow water spec fishing and we are novices at finding and catching specs, but we do know flounder and we did not catch any in the P'tank despite fishing minnows on many drop offs in good tidal and wind conditions.
