Anyone planning on fishing the Smith Point Sea Rescue Bluefish/Rockfish Derby this Friday and Saturday. Looks like the weather might even be good for a change. Will be out there both days. Give me a yell.

I have a crew of 5 that is fishing both days as well. The weather is looking pretty good so far. I have no clue what the plan is yet......chumming / trolling. Sounds like they have been catching at the mouth of the Potomac. If the blues and rocks don't cooperate we may have to target the horse croaker that won't leave the flounder rigs alone. We will be aboard the Earley Times out of Norview on 68.

Good luck[grin]

We will be there heading out of smith point as early as they will let us, staying at the KOA. The way it looks now we will be hanging out on a ledge in the middlegrounds in the morning, and see how it goes. We will monitor ch 6 and 68. See yall at the capt. meeting and good luck!!

Thanks for the replies. Not sure as of yet where or how we are going to fish. Got home from grandson's baseball game and had message from friend that has been at the bay all week. He says the fishing has been very good. They caught several fish in the 20 lb range. Not sure if they were trolling or chumming. Guess I will find out tomorrow evening. Sorry I won't be able to post the info because I don't have a computer at the Cottage. GOOD LUCK to all that fish the Tournament.

Is it possible to just fish Sat instead of both days?

Yes. As long as you pay the entry fee, you can fish either day, or both.

It kills me that my family is having its first reunion in 15 years on Saturday and I get to have houseguests. Tried to act like I didn't get an invitation but was busted out by the wife . Good Luck to you guys, I will be thinking of you lucky folk.
