How "high up" does the remaining structure at the cell come within the surface of the water? I know some of you guys spadefish out there and I want to this year. I have done so so at Wolftrap, but have seen folks (often in tiny boats!) catching them at the Cell. I would assume you would wait until you quit trolling for flatties or the tide was slack, throw a wreck anchor and fish over a high point? Any other suggestions for where to avoid the Woftrap race?

One part comes up to within 10ft of the surface. Another is around 15ft. In between these spots it is over 30 and the surrounding area is 40ft. Fish seem to move all over entire area. A wreck anchor is needed.

Good info, thanks. How close is the stuff that's 10 feet below the surface to the yellow Reef Buoy? I have fished for stripers and flounder there for the past few years, and have never found anything less than 20 ft. Must be looking in the wrong place.

try up around the wt2 red bouy, thats the degussing station tower site that the spades are on you will see it on the finder. wreck ancor is a must.
good luck it can be a parking lot at times also.

Thanks! I have a wreck anchor--but Wolftrap is really about as close as the Cell for me, and I have finally leart how to get some nice flounder during the summer out there, so I just wanted to split up the bite (God willing).

I will trade you some tips on flounder at 42 for some Wolftrap flounder tips - I just moved the boat south to Gwynn's from Deltaville and am a lot closer to the Cell but there are days when it might be nice to stick to the west. If you are interested, b mail me for some spots / exchange.

I wrote a confusing reply--I don't have any flounder holes near Wolftrap--I meant the Cell. I fish out of Queen's Creek, though, and will definitely bmail you some tips for around the area.

The yellow reef buoy marks some concrete stuff. They are only a couple feet off the bottom and probably hold seabass, togs, and flounder, but if spades are there they will be deeper. The deguasing station is approximately 75yards East/Northeast of the WT2 buoy.
