Greetings,
Hate to drill a hole in the hull of my boat, but would like to install a fish finder.
Would putting the transducer in an oil bath inside the bottom of my hull work?
Thanks in advance.

You could put in in a "water bath", why use oil? They install this way in kayaks all the time. 4" PVC clean-out works.

Have a Airmar P79 transducer that's designed to shoot though. Has a well that fills with fluid. They recommend propylene glycol. Can't say I've noticed any loss of signal because of it.
