I am buying a boat that has a brand new never in the water 25hp MHL yamaha 2 stroke. I do not want the engine but the boat is such a heat deal I hate to pass it up. I see brand new that this 2009 engine sells for 3499.00. I understand by definition it is used but what do you think I can sell it for? I thought about asking $2500. Your thoughts appreciated

$2500 is the NADA average retail for that motor, I would think it is worth it, especially if there is any warranty available. the only drawback may be that carbed 2 strokes are no longer being marketed in the US.
try a few classified adds & see what response you get

I'd ask $3000.00 You can always bargain down. Those two stroke 25's are good motors and will last forever.

I purchased a 25 MHL 2-stroke brand new from Sandpiper Marine in Accomack, VA for $2600 last year, sounds like the same motor you have for sale. Gootees in MD had a very similar price for the motor. Both dealer's prices are on the web. That being said, $3499 MSRP is pretty far off "market price". It's a great motor. I'd give it some more thought before you sold it.

3499 sounds more like a 4 stroke price. Bob
