Canyon Runner 60 7/17-18 15 Yellowfin (7 nice Ones)
Capt. Phil Dulanie had the Dr. John Bednar charter our Sunday Monday and decided to stay on the West Wall of the Hudson. They arrived at Noon and slowed picked away at fish the entire day right up until dark. The night bite was uneventful but they got right back on the fish in the morning and finished up with 15 Yellowfin. Out of the 15 seven were nice fish in the 40-50 pound class. Canyon Runner Squid Spreader bars, Canyon Runner Secret Runner Lures and ballyhoo accounted for the catch.
Canyon Runner 60 7/20 - 8 Yellowfin/6 Bluefin
Capt. Phil Dulanie had the Tom Sulkowski charter out Tuesday Wednesday and stopped on the Bluefin ground around the Chicken on the way out. They picked away at nice Bluefin on the chunk and jigs and ended up with their over and under and released 4 more. They then ran out to the Hudson and worked from the Tip down the west wall to the 150/050 and around the mouth to the 100-square and up to the East Elbow. The best action was around the East Elbow with a pick of 8 yellowfin being brought to the boat with 5 nices one in the 30-50 pound class. Canyon Runner Squid Spreader bars, Canyon Runner Secret Runner Lures and ballyhoo accounted for the catch.
Canyon Runner 60 7/22-23 Sometimes it Just doesnt Happen
Capt. Phil Dulanie had the Mike Lilonsky charter out Friday to Saturday and had just one of those bad days. They stopped at the Chicken and had 1 bluefin in the 45 class and missed a few others. They then ran out to the east wall and trolled to the 100-square without a touch when they decided to run up to inbetween the Hudson and Dip also without a touch on the troll. At night they thought they had the trip salvaged with a big sword only to find out after 3 hours they had a 300 pound manta ray.
Canyon Runner 48 - July 19-20 Open Boat Trip - 14 yellowfin, 3 bluefin (2 @46" and 1 @ 55") , 83lb wahoo, 3 tilefish
Capt. Mark DeBlasio had an open boat trip on the 48 Canyon Runner with Capt. Deane Lambros in the cockpit. They headed to the Hudson Canyon and picked a couple Bluefin at the Chicken Canyon on their way out but trolling from there to the Hudson did not produce a bite. Working the east elbow and down the edge to the 100-square they had a slow pick on Tuesday and nothing at night but the next morning proved excellent with a total of 14 yellowfin coming to the boat with a 83 pound wahoo toping it off. Canyon Runner Squid Spreader bars, Canyon Runner Secret Runner Lures and ballyhoo accounted for the catch.
Canyon Runner 48 July 22-23 14 Yellowfin (8 Nice Ones)/3 Bluefin
Capt. Mark DeBlasio left Friday morning and ran to the Bluefin grounds first and picked 3 bluefin at the Chicken Canyon all around 45 inches. He then trolled from the Chicken to the Tip of the Hudson and picked 5 yellowfin at the Tip but with no other solid signs and feeling he just got lucky he picked up and ran inbetween the Hudson and Dip and trolled up 5 more right before dark. During the night bite he went 4 for 6 on yellowfin. He finished up with 14 Yellowfin with 8 of them from 40-60 pounds. Canyon Runner Squid Spreader bars, Canyon Runner Secret Runner Lures and ballyhoo accounted for the catch.
