Rappahanock: White Perch & Herring?

Last year about this time I was at the Rap near Route 1 bridge and caught a good amount of White Perch. Are they in there now? Please let me know, I hate to drive all the way there just for someone to tell me..."Not yet, they'll be in very soon".

I can't wait!!!! My rods and reels are getting way too dusty and I need to catch somehthing!!!! Oh, herrring? When would they be in? Please HELP~

Not yet, at least that you can catch.

The Rapp spiked hard from all the rain yesterday. 10 feet of water on the Fredericksburg guage. So muddy a pig wouldn't wallow in it. So high it will be a solid week before any fishing can be done. Gonna be interesting to see how much more silt this high water pushes down from above the old dam site.

And I have the whole week off. [sad]

I hope after the water gets back to normal the fish will start their spawn run. Any news would be appreciated.

I drove across the Rapp on 95 today. Looked like Nestle Quik chocolate milk and alot of it. Not very fishing friendly.

Once the mud is gone,fishing for herring,shad.& white perch should be getting good around this time next week

I will try not to schedule a trip for this week end. That should help the river come down to a normal level.

Thanks Boss Hog, but it looks like we need more than just your help. Forecast calls for more heavy rain Friday night and Saturday. Without it the river might well be close to fishable Sunday. With it, next weekend perhaps?

I'm gonna beat the deluge I hope and hit small water tomorrow.

I went out tonight and put the cover back on the boat. Usually that holds the rain off until I uncover it again.
