Picked the right weather day with flat calm seas all day. Ran to Baltimore. Lots of life (two tones, pilot whales, turtles, sun fish and skippies busting on squid balls) and lots of boats. We only managed two bites all day, but went 2 for 2 on nice YFTs both caught in 100 fathoms. Sounded on the radio like hit and miss from Balt to Poormans. Slow day for many, but others catching a few fish from from 50 to 500 fathoms. Fish seem to just be spread out. Good luck, time to get ready for WMO.

I was there at the Baltimore too. Saw the 2 tones, whales and bait but didn't have a single knock down all day. OK, I had one knock down that turned out to be a plastic bag. I did not release the bag. It went in the trash.

Jim,

We ended up out in the Baltimore Sunday as well with only a rat Mako to speak of. Got a late start due to fuel pump issue.

I found a ton of rips and bait at the Teacup on the way out and couldnt pull a damn fish out of it. The rips went on for a half mile or so and chick birds all over the place.

It was a shame considering the water was flat calm.

Just too much good water everywhere and the fish are spread out. Hell, my buddy was catching Mahi 10 miles offshore between B and A bouy Sunday. I should have stopped at the DE light on my way out as there were slicks, birds and bait everywhere and 78 degree water, crystal clear

Hey Jim,
At least you were out there and got a few tuner. All we got for our efforts on Saturday at the Washinton was a few gaffer dolphin.

I hope the fishing picks up for the Open.
