I don't know much about giging, but I would think that the Chick or Nottaway would be good. How about the Nottoway guys? Riser guys?

Oh I never thought that I would even hear of such a thing around here. Did it all the time at my friends farm down in Eunice, Louisiana. Good times!

You need to find a pond somewhere to go gigging at, preferably a farm pond. Wasting your time on the Nottoway.

MattD..i'm from jennings..about 25miles from Eunice ....lots of big frogs around there, but unfortunately there are no rice fields or bayou's around here hehe...... i miss froggin..nothing like coming home with about 30-40 of them and giving them fat legs a hot grease bath:P

Ever tried gigging toads? Plenty of those around. I heard they taste like chicken.

I've been giggin' several times in my life, that was before I found out about Wal*mart. [wink] They have them at my Wal*mart in Chester at least, but you have to ask for them.

Yeah I know its the fun of it, but if you just want some to eat, Wally world can help. There is a Chinese place on Midlothian W. of Robious that has them on the buffet. [tongue]

Ponds (the more overgrown the better) if you just have to go get them fresh, are your best bet.

Find an old farm pond that is grown up with weeds and high grass around the edge. Ponds where people mow grass all the way to the water won't have any. Hate to say it, but all good frog ponds have plenty of snakes too. If there aren't any snakes, there probally aren't gonna be any frogs.
It's alot of fun trying to get a water mocassin off your gig........better yet, if he falls off in the boat[grin]

If you turn over a piece of ply wood there is usually a bunch of them there. Make sure they are dead before you pick them up or they will piss on your hand.

Nothing beats a good ol' farm pond......never forget the time a buddy gigged the head of a snapping turtle(by accident),a big one at that...that mean ****** bit the end of his rubber boot ...lucky for him..he had borrowed the boots and they were to big to begin with otherwise he might be missing a toe or two.

For those that have never had frog legs...they are delicious..don'y knock it till you have tried it......

might just have to go out and get me a mess of Kermit legs![grin]
