It will be crowded. Richmond paper says they are un catchable right now. Bet they get some. My Dogwood is blooming.

Does anyone know if it is safe to put a canoe in at the launch below 95 and come up to fish for the shad. I hear some people do that?

2 Things.
1. I was out yesterday and unless you are a world class paddler with tons of stamina to fight that strong current I would say no.
2. Being Saturday and they are having a shad tourney tomorrow, watch out for powerboats. There are some folks who just blast right thru boats that are stacked up everywhere fishing.
Good luck if you try, but I wouldn't recommend it.

yes, it is done all the time. Canoe, kayak, bass boat, deep v's. Come on up and fish.
