A friend bought a used bass boat this spring and had not had much success on the lower river. He lives 20 min. from Aquia creek so I met him and his future son-in-law yesterday at the ramp to give it a try. I have not fished the lower river in 8 years, went back to the salt water thing. The weather was good, overcast with a few showers and light winds. We fished Aquia and Potomac creek along with main river grass. We had steady action all day on buzz baits and spinner baits fishing outside edges of grass wherever the edge was well defined. Same summer pattern I fished 8 years ago in the same places. We had fish to just over 4 lbs with quite a few 3 lb. fish in the mix. I think I got the bug again.
