White Perch on Route 1, Rapp

I am off on Friday and would like to fish the Rap, at the Route 1 park area...are the white perch still there, Spawning or am I a little too late. Herring there too? Please let me know. Thank you.

Can't speak for the Rap but the white perch are thick in the James right between the train tressle and the I 95 bridge. I shad fished yesterday and two guys beside me using sabiki rigs caught them two at a time non stop for two hours. They kept two dozen big ones. Don't know about herring but hickory shad are thick right now in the James. Good luck

The perch are hickory shad are there(and biting well), but the herring, americans, and stripers haven't made it yet. I may give it a try tomorrow also. I could go for a nice meal of whites.

Well the perch were a bit thin small today, but the shadding was very good. Caught around 50-60 today in about 4 hours.[grin]
