Caught a nice 28" striper sunday while catfishing. 4 more inches and it would have come home with me.

Whats do you guys catch your striper on durning trophy/spring season? Im mainly concerned about waters in the James, up-river of city point (above spawning reaches).

Bucktails? 20ft depth? Trolling? Drifting? Anchored? Etc.

Ive caught a few in the past two weeks just catfishing. Would like to focus on the striper when Cat. spawn is on. Thanks in ADV. -Jake[smile]

I fish flats with herring or gizzard shad. I also cast rattle traps.

I anchor on a certain spot that has a rocky bottom, use peelers, cut bait, eels or small fish. First of the incoming tide, first of the outgoing tide.
