I think Im gunna be goin down around walkerton this comin weekend, any suggestions? caught a couple of eatin size cats there last weekend, hear there r some biguns around there

I don't know anything about up river, but it sounds like there is a lot of good croaker action at and below West Point.

What kind of tournaments are you looking for? Bass, Catfish?

If you are interested in Catfish there is the Virginia Catfish Asso. (VCA) and the James River Catfishing Club (JRCC). The JRCC is made up of members here. Look here in the freshwater board for JRCC in the title.

Also a series at Buggs Island (Kerr lake) called the Showdown draws a big crowd. See the post just below here. There had 124 boats fishing Saturday night!
