last trip out in the boat and my Lowrance started acting up. First it is turning itself on and then flickers through the 3 different light settings. almost as if the power/light button is stuck. i checked that but the buttons is not stuck. needless to say it killed my battery.
any idea what i can try to do to fix it?

You can't do a thing. This was a very common problem with that generation of Lowrance fishfinder/chart plotters. Lowrance no longer
provides service for the X 107 (made in 2005-2006). But it could still have some value. Their policy has been to offer a trade up value
for out of warranty/no longer serviced units. The HDS5X would be the direct replacement, and can use your current transducer.
It is worth a call.

thanks for the info. i will be calling them today and asking about that trade in. but here is another issue. My friend went to the boat yesterday and noticed that the transducer is separating in the middle and the little rubber part the goes across the middle is starting to crack. do you think this could be the cause of my issues? thinking maybe if water gets in there it could start acting funny ( not really thinking but hoping)!

Disconnect the transducer and I think you will still have your screen issues. It's such a common problem with the
LMS & X series when the unit has some years on it. I did have the same exact problems as yours with a LMS332, and a X 105.

I'm going down today to try that. thanks for all the info. i talked to the support line and they said that they will charge me $368 for the replacement HDS5x so looks like thats the route I'm taking.
thanks again for your help.
one more thing. if i just zip tie the transducer, will that affect the performance?

Anything is worth a try.
Transducers are not expensive. Sounds like you need a new one. Hopefully the HDS5X Lowrance offers you has a
transducer. May as well start new with everything.
I have used the HDS5X. It is a really nice sonar.
