well i haven't seen any of you bums since winter and unfortunatly for me it looks like this weekend i may see a few faces uglier than a catfish

all spring i've been working 2 jobs and haven't had much time to fish at all .. this weekend i'm heading back down to the james for the first time since FEBRUARY!!

anywho i haven't seen many good reports .. most of them seem to be about idiots riding around in party barges and jet skis .. this is precisily why i limit my catfishing to winter or the middle of the night on a flooded river

since this will probably be my one and only trip down there this summer i was wondering how the bait situation is .. any tips via PM would be greatly appreciated on where to find the little buggers [grin]

I've been out 2-3 times each week last 4 weeks and caught very small cats up to 9 pound (small by comparison for these parts I understand) but I have caught quite o few, nonetheless. I caught them all on night crawlers and cut shad.
I've been fishing the Appomatox, too, so not sure how it varies.
Good luck.

Keep an eye on the approaching storm. We are expecting lots of rain up here on the upper James the next 12 - 24 hours so muddy water will be heading down there this weekend. Of course some folks (ok, folk) say they do great during high water. Good luck to you either way.

thanks guys .. i'm assuming moving some water through will cool it down and send some food through .. hopefully really turning them on .. hopefully the water dosen't get too awful high

thanks for the bait tips .. if its where you say it hasn't moved since i was down [grin]
