Hey men, I'm considering buying ground in Quinby. First question is what is the name of the marina in the town and how much do they rent a slip for? Talking the season (spring to fall). The 2nd question is how about the fishing. Is it any good behind the barrier islands? And if a person goes off shore how far out must they go for tuna, dolphin, cobia, wahoo and marlin? Inshore fishing for flounder, croaker, blues and stripers- is it any good?

Thank you, Bob

21 Mile hill for Tuna, etc. Fishing up and down the coast behind the barrier islands will give you a mixed bag from late March thru early December. Stop in Don's Tackle Shop on the road into Wachapreague and talk to him. Be careful navigating in and out of Quinby as the channels are narrow and poorly marked.

Excellent flounder fishing in spring and fall and very few people compared to Wachapreague. The channel through the inlet is not marked and getting a local to guide you first time is recommended,26 mile hill and 30 fathom line good June-Oct.

Also some of the best winter rockfishing around. Personally I believe many rock winter off that area although quite outside the line.

The inshore fishing is great, lots of flounder, croaker, sharks, big black and red drum in the spring into early summer. Like everyone else said, bluefin, king mackeral and bluefish on the 21 and 26 mile hill. 30 fthms all the way to the deep yellowfin, wahoo, dolphin and marlin. I have a little fishing cabin there now and will eather build or buy a bigger place when I retire and move down there. Also good crabbin and if you can trailer your boat you can be on the bayside in 15 min.

Not in my experience??? I have see many limits of big flounder----over 25'' over the years with the ratio way better then most places, but true----kinda hard to navigate!
