The current Woods and Water magazine has a $10 off coupon on any purchase of $50 or more.

Their sales must be falling off.
I've gotten two $10 off of $50 coupons in the mail over the last couple of weeks.
Too bad they don't carry a decent surf rod.
Might need a new pair of shoes, or a nut bra.

Buy the shoes, short the stock.

I didnt want to slam dunk a joke like that around someone i dont know, but it was pretty hard with set up like that.
Two GREAT surf rods (maybe the only decent ones they have) are the Tsunami 10 foot, and the ugly stick (yes, believe it or not) graphite custom surf.
The ugly stick graphite shouldn't even have ugly written anywhere on it. The graphite is as responsive as any high dollar recipies, and the thing is tough enough to actually lift 60 pounds before it fails. It is not 'unbreakable', but it is an awesome rod that only resembles it's wet noodle brother by the fact that is is extremely tough. All the ug stik graphites (not 'lites') are versatile enough to launch a windcheater past the breakers, feel every kick of it swimming back, and enough backbone to land an 80 pound fish without even thinking about the rod (worry about the line). The same rod that can hurl 4 ounces is sensitive enough to finesse sluggos and flounder jigs and feel every nibble. I have three Ug stiik custom graphites, and choose them over lamiglass, diawa, unless I need a broomstick for 8+. They sit on the shelves at dicks and greentop cause surf casters see the 'Ugly Stick' emblem and run for the hills. Thats my.02

I went over and looked around at Dicks on Wednesday night. Ended up buying some stuff I couldn't live without. Got to use my coupon to, so I saved some money. Hunting season is coming so I have to stock up.

fishfool,
I looked at the Tsumami, but thought it was a little heavy.
You're right about the uglystick. I lifted it, but didn't give it a second thought.
Had heard no comments about the Tsunami, so I didn't want to experiment with my 100.00
BRo-in-law in Southern Shores recommended Tica and some guys on this site and pier and surf recommended Tica, so it had the upper hand going in. It does have a good feel and sensitive tip.
Can't wait to try it this weekend.
