I am ready to buy a pontoon after shopping for 3 months and have narrowed it down to Southeastern or Jordan Pt. - Both sell the same basic boat made by Godfrey Marine(Sweetwater vs Parti Kraft) but my concern is the mechanics ability to repair the boat(if necessary) right the first time and not have someone - "take another whack at it" - The motor is a 115 Yamaha 4 stroke so any negative or positve info on the motor is appreciated also. I started the process looking at 40 and 60hp motors and finally said - go big ! thanks for the input and is there any truth that big blues bite better when fishing pontoons vs SeaPros? Please say YES ! striperjoe

Joe
Check and see if Steve Brown is still working at Jordan Point. If he is I'd go with them as Steve is one of the best outboard mechanics in the area.
I guess I can read faster than you can edit[grin]

charlie is the boat dealer at Jordan Pt. Justin is the mechanic who runs his own repair shop at the marina. High praises for Justin. one of the best around. I recommend him to everyone....charlie is another story. call me and I'll fill you in on how I was treated.

Justin helped me last year when my steering cables busted. He came out to the dock & rigged up at steering rod so I could get back to Deep Bottom & didn't charge other than the tip I gave him.Not many mechanics would stop what they were doing to help someone who has never done buisness at thier shop, more less come out & fix it on the water

talk to Mike at jordan (instead of charlie) also justin is awesome really has taken care of me, most of the time gets boat back in water minimal time.
Buy the boat at Jordan's and then take it to Ed's Marine Superstore for service, I hear they do a wonderful job with fast turn around[grin].

Justin has helped me out - big time on 2 occasions, and I am not a local fisherman.I found him to be real honest and geuinely concerned and accomadating.I have nothing but praise for him, Petey Bourne and all the catters I have met on the river.
