I have a few things I'd liked tweaked on my boat and am intersted in finding a Richmond area service center that can do GOOD welding on an aluminum boat. Know any?

Years ago I had the company S.W. Funk do some welding on an aluminum boat. Turned out alright, but all the repairs were on the bottom. They are located in Chester and have been around a long time. They do commercial and industrial work on a big scale. Of course, it all depends on the guy doing the work. Give them a call and see if they will even do it. Then the next time you are near Dutch Gap stop in and get a feel for the place. They are right on Rt. 10 near the turn to go to the Dutch Gap ramp.
I have a 14' jon boat that leaking rivets. I had them weld (heli-arc) every rivet on the bottom. The guy gave me a great price and did the work. I think it was a much bigger job than he planned, but stuck to his quote and the boat was fine.
Hope you get it worked out.

Big Cat - which wielder are yout talking about!?!?
I'm hoping for a boat welder cuz some of my stuff requires boat knowledge to ensure it is put back together right.
Dayton - got any pics of you in that little boat?

yeah, he probably can weld. I still need someone who can address things specific to a boat. There are components that need to be removed, etc and I want a knowledgable boat place to do this stuff.
