I have a Garmin 76CSx http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_11151_10001_435018_-1?cid=sc_google&creative=9472573204&gclid=CKTygZe5na0CFcNo4AoddQEDmA
It has been a great little unit. I use it for hunting and fishing as well as mounted on an ATV. I have the Bluewater maps as well as a Topo map. Waterproof and floats.
I am also a fan of the Garmin "after warranty" program. For $110.00 after the warranty expires they will send you a new/rebuilt unit. I've done it a couple of times and even had them honor my upgrade from a GPS 76 to the 76CSx for $110.00. The other time I did it was getting one at a garage sale that didn't work ($2.00) and sent it in.
This model has been a very enduring model and the only upgrades over the years were the addition of a color screen and an SD card to increase storage. I have a friend in Alaska that uses one to fly his small plane.

I just went to the website http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html
Select GPS 76 and they quote a price of $79.00. Just follow the directions on the page and request an RMA. It has been a little while since I did this but since they still have it listed on their site I would think they need to honor it.
