Hit the pond at Myrtle Grove in LaPlata, MD on Sunday for 5 hrs. (12:00-5:00). Caught approx. 60-80 Crappie and a few small bluegill. Kept 6 nice Crappie for the frying pan. The ones kept were about 1lb. to 1 1/2. Not to bad. A fun relaxing day.

That sounds like fun. If we get a week of warm weather, I see some vacation time devoted to crappie!

We use a little rubber mini jig around here for crappie. Three colors work best,Yellow with white tails,Green with white tail, and red with w/t. The jig head is 1/32oz. We fish brush piles that we put in ourselfs and mark by triangulation(sp)and depth. One of the best ways to mark a hole is to line up two objects on the bank usually trees or it can be a tree and a window on a house. Go straight at you marks and remember the depth when you find it. Works every time. Good slab fishing to you.

I like to use black and yellow together... jigs, spinners, whatever.
White works good too. You can't beat a live minner either.
