So far about 0.16 at Dulles, about twice that at National, and I don't see much if any more on the way, so the answer is "maybe."

I was looking at the Potomac levels, and it doesn't look like the upper watershed got hit too bad. At least the readings are much better than last Friday at this time.

I will be trying this weekend. Thinking about sleeping there even. Not really but every waking second is going to be devoted to that river this weekend. I've been preping friends, family and of course the girlfriend for this event and I'm not giving up now. I'll be in the blue boat on Saturday morning, afternoon......

Salmo trutta - I might stop in. Will you be fishing from shore or boat, Fletchers or CB??? Even on Friday the Potomac up at Dam4 was still stained, vis ~ 14"-16" and down 8" from yesterday but still flowing strong.

Hi Howard,

Going to Fletchers.

I'll be in a big blue center console with a 130 Honda on the back. I'm hoping to anchor but I lost my wreck anchor last night fishing further down river. What should I use as a substitue? Cinder block I guess.... Not sure who will be with me tomorrow or who will sleep in but if there's room, get my attention and come aboard.

High tide is around 9:30am tomorrow. I will leave shortly there after.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow and lets hope the shad cooperate.

Good luck tomorrow Jon....new moon too. The tide should be crazy high with added pleasure of a 35knot NE wind (in the bay at least)...extra junk in the h2o.
Fletchers updated the fishing report...here it is

The river has been high and muddy for the last two weeks, but is dropping slowly. Let’s hope the coming rains will be light or better yet go East of here which would allow the river to become fishable by the middle of next week if not sooner

Although the river is too high to rent boats, there were some shore fisherman catching a few perch and catfish on worms

I know from my 50-year experience that hickory shad are here and anyone fishing from shore in the next few days will catch some, using a dart with a silver shad spoon. Be careful, as the banks are muddy and slippery. Remember, this is a catch and release fishery and that is one of the reasons we have had great shad fishing the last 4 or 5 years

The new concessionaire has DC fishing licenses for sale on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm, but with the bad weather and high river, haven’t been open on weekends or put any boats in the river. Lots of the boats are ready to go once the river gets to a safe level, and it shouldn’t take more than ½ a day for the boats to be ready to rent. So there is a good chance they will open this weekend for licenses, bait & tackle. It might be a good idea to get your fishing licenses and scope out the area before it gets crowded.

Today I didn’t fish for the cows as the roe hickory shad started biting -- GREAT BITE!

We had a decent day but didn't go up river for the shad. Thinking of going there now as a matter of fact. It is now ~7am.

THe wind was no big deal yesterday and the debris was avoidable but definatley present. What was the real kicker was the crew races. I think it was the Annual Georgetown Invitational where colleges from all over the east coast came to race the crew boats. They pretty much tied up the upper river all morning and afternoon.
