Fished from shore south of Fletcher's from just after 5 pm to just before 7 pm, falling tide; caught at least 36 shad on the fly rod, a few quite nice ones; missed a few; and got one on the spinning rod when I needed a break from casting the fly. Fast strip seemed to work better than slow, any depth; at first all of them took the green and yellow fly then for a while only the red and yellow fly and then either, but never a double-header. Three guys with spinning rods nearby did just fine as well. It just doesn't get any better (unless it gets this way with white shad).
The boat situation looks iffy for the weekend; Dan says he doesn't even want to guess at Fletcher's hours for the weekend. But they should have another 14 for a total of 24 boats ready by then.
