Here is a site I found worth checking out. It offers some really great tips for crabbers like us. It covers all the basis from which crab traps to use, best time to crab, snoods, best crab bait, checking if crabs are dead or alive, and a useful list of crabbing supplies that I now use as a checklist before I go out. A lot of good information here that answers a lot of questions for new and seasoned crabbers.

Thanks for that site. That pretty much sums up a lot of what we do. There is a lot of good information there that would save someone a lot of trial and error out on the water. I didn't know about one of the dead or alive checking methods. Good stuff jpapa, thanks.

I've been looking around for some crabbing tips since I'm starting out my season this coming weekend. We can all learn something here and again. I came across this post and wanted to thank jpapa for posting this. That site he posted offers a lot of nice tips to help us fellow crabbers. Hope we have a decent season! I've read all about what they are forecasting for this year but the best way to see if they're biting is to get up and go out there and see for yourself. Good luck this year!
