I just remembered , this may be a better place to post this:
Hi All!
I will be down visiting in Chincotegue in May and will be taking a few day trips around and about.
Can you suggest any Flyshops etc. that are close by where I might catch a BARGIN or two for Flyreels/ Rods, Fishing shirts/Pants etc.
We have a BPS in Toronto so I can get thier stuff locally. Is there a Cabelas or a smaller shop around with quality at a fair price?
Thanks for your help

I cannot remember his name but there is a very good conventional tackle shop on Rt 13 just above the Maryland Virginia line. It's probaby 10 miles from Chincotegue. For a true Fly shop you have to go up to Winchester Creek on Rt 50 in Maryland just on the East side of the Bay Bridge. (that's Bay Bridge crossing the upper Bay from Annapolis not the CBBT on the ocean end of the bay)

That was good.... [grin]
13 should take you by Salisbury Fly Shop...for the sake of the little shops..avoid BPS and Cabelas.
Winchester Creek Outfitters is right off the 50/301 split on the Eastern Shore. It is 100% worth stopping by....google both shops ...
Are you doing the tuna shuffle this summer? Lots of Mahi last year...bunches of bluefin...not so many yellowfin though.

The conventional shop is Sea Hawk Sports just south of Pocomoke, bay side, on Rt. 13. On Chincoteague I would recommend Capt'n Steves on Maddux Ave (on way to beach)across from Maria's Restaurant. Ask for Tom (owner, great guy and a friend). Both are good contacts for fishing reports. As already mentioned Salisbury Fly Shop is the only local fly shop. Mason Huffman is the owner and a wealth of local information. Located on Snow Hill Rd. (rt 12).

Thank you all for your time to respond!
I will drop in to see Mason for sure.
I love to visit the local flyshops,
what could be better than" Flies and Lies"
The local shops on Chinco will most likely get a visit as well.
( too bad Barnacle Bill's is N/A, would have liked a "T" Shirt . loved the song)
As an aside:
I read somewhere on one of these sites that Maria's Restaurant on Chinco had the best Pizza around, is that true?
Thanks again<
Cheers eh!
