And what is the length and limit? I couldn't find it on the DC Fisheries page.

Thanks,
Mark

I asked the people at Fletchers and they assured me that striper season opened on May 1. Thats about a month earlier than the past several years. I'd have to assume they know what they are talking about... but I am a tat bit leary. During the past few years, I have found it to be very difficult to get information directly from DC Fisheries.

The fishing regulations book that comes with the license has a phone number to call: 202-535-2260.

I saw one spinfisher leave CB Tuesday morning with a good size striper in tow (not sure what size it was)

Wow, May 1! in past years I thought it started on June 1.

It's May 1, and I'm pretty sure the limit is one fish per day 18" (it might be two fish per day, but I'm not 100% on that)

msusawyer - In past years I've called that number at least 20 times and never got an answer. Haven't tried this year.

Fletchers said, at least for the time being, that there is also a maximum size in effect. Forgot what he said it was. The minimum size is 18"... and don't know about the creel limit.

DC season is the same as last year. It opened on May 01 and runs until Nov. Size is 18" min. with a 36" max. with a 2 fish per person per day limit.
Went 3 times this week. Bite was slow most of the time but got a few keepers. All males, No BIG females. River is FULL of Herring and tiny white perch. Tied on 2 Hook Sabaki Rig and usually had 2 on within 3 seconds of hitting bottom. Great fun on light spinning tackle to catch 2 Herring at a time. Guess with all that Bait in the Water the Stripers don't take long to Fill up when they decide to Eat.
