In a couple of days I'm headed to Myrtle for a long weekend (my buddy's bachelor party). I was just curious if anyone out there has fished the area and might suggest something. Any saltwater wade fishing to do? Maybe some bass on the golf courses? Just wondering whether I should bring a rod along...

Look up Capt. Smiley Charters, or to drive to Charlston and get a charter there.

If I were you I'd bring lots of Advil, about $1000 cash and sunscreen. [grin]

Try Gene at www.deltaguideservice.com. He is in georgetown but can meet you somewhere. I fished with him a few years ago and he was a good one. He is also on this site.

I use to live there as a kid and head down to visit my mother a few times a year. You wading options are limited. You can rent a Carolina Skiff or jon boat in Murrells Inlet and putz around. There are a few places I have waded with very limited success. You have 2 very good guides to call and I would include George Gallager to that list. B-Mail me if I can help further.

Thanks for everyone's advice, especially yours, Fisham. (The advil is already packed.) I'll look into getting one of those guides. I'm just surprised none of you guys referred me to the Crazy Horse or Derriere's Gentleman's Club. [wink]

Take your rod to Suck, Bang, Blow on the bypass road. You can catch lots of critters there.

I second Corys suggestion, I chartered Capt SAmiley a couple of years ago and had a blast. He put us on flounder and reds. Great guy, works hard and does the job and not to expensive. So call him up.
