View Full Version : Question Do you eat crab legs ?

Went to a party Saturday evening and they had crabs along with other food.

While I was eating a few - a guy sitting across from me asked why I ate the meat from the crab legs.

I never thought twice about it - there is a nice piece of meat in those 6 legs of each crab. Seems a waste just to discard the legs.

Guess there were about 15 people eating the crabs but only two others besides my wife and I ate the legs.

Once every one saw how easy it is to push that piece of meat out - most started to eat the legs as well.

Curious how many here find the leg meat worth eating - or know about it ?

I always eat the legs... Was taught not to be wasteful. Several times I have eaten crabs with friends and wondered how they were eating 2 crabs to my one, until I had to go through their shells and pick the other half of meat they missed. Some people do not understand that picking the meat is nearly as good as eating it!

Always. Especially after all the crabs are gone, then I go back to see if I missed any. The kids always leave em........george

I always eat em.

Now, I don't go so far as to dig the mustard out of the points like some folks I know.

Generally speaking I don't but, every once in a while i will off of some of the bigger crabs.

To me the leg meat is some of the best tasting meat in the crab but very few people do it . I always teach people how to get it out easy . snap off the end and squeeze . crab meat lollypop . Amazing how much people pay for a dozen and leave a lot of the meat .

That's some of the sweetest meat on the crab. I never pass it up.
