Fellas, been wondering what "in aggregate" means when referring to fishing regs. Such as the reg taken from the DNR website as shown below:
Bass, Largemouth and Smallmouth 12 inches or as provided for by special regulations 5 - daily
10 - possession, in aggregate Closed March 1 - June 15
Note: Catch and release is permitted during closed seasons
If anyone could clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Once I figure out what this means, then I will finally know all there is to know about fishing and crabbing [grin]

Okay guys, here goes - after 5 days the DNR finally found an "expert" to send a reply.
Word for word, here it is:
"A possession limit is exactly what it means, it is a limit to the amount you can have in your possession. For example, if you are catching striped bass during the Spring Season and you catch your one fish and quit, you must take the one rock fish back to the campsite or cabin where you are staying. If you stay out on the water for more than one day and catch the limit on the first day, you must either eat the limit from the first day, or you cann ot fish on the second day."
Sincerely,
Dianne Samuels

Any further questions, suggest you all contact the lady listed above. She is supposed to be the "expert".

Well, we now know Dianne's definition of "POSSESSION LIMIT".
What I would like to know is EXACTLY what was the question asked of the DNR (ver batim).
Keep in mind, the original question Herefishyfishy asked pertained to "IN AGGREGATE", not POSSESSION.

Hey mikie, at least you received a reply. I have e-mailed DNR multiple times about regs, and have never once gotten a response!!! Either way it all sounds like a bunch of BS!!!

Herefishyfishy. If it's about fishing regs try the Samuels woman on Mikies post. She usually gets back in a day. Tony

Original question to DNR, word for word:
"A question has arisen concerning the meaning of Possession Limits. My understanding is; you may have the possession limit (if it is more than the Daily Limit) if you are fishing for more than one day, without returning home. (i.e. on vacation, etc.).
Can you clarify this?"
Thought the "In Aggregate" thing was already answered. If not, suggest you e-mail Ms. Samuels at the aforementioned e-mail address, my finger is getting tired of typing. Besides that, I cut my typing finger on a beer can yesterday!! [sad]

Corey - amibiguity is DNR's hustle, as in augmenting and sustaining its pecuniary allowance. They just want an avenue to levy the FINES, man! [tongue]
How's that for learned, y'all? [wink] He, he!

Toolbox this [pecuniary allowance] sounds like another way off saying some type of creel limit .[grin][grin][grin]. Maybe DNR can add it to [in aggregate] Tony
