Has anyone seen or been on the Bay since the flood gates on the dam have been opened? I was wondering if the Bay looks like it did in September when the gates were opened. What effect, if any ,will this have on the crabs?

Everyday. It's milky with some debri. I think it should clear by the time the crabs start running, unless the rain continues. More rain will keep the temps down and the water dirty.

Steve,

The Upper Bay tribs are clearing. I was out Wed with Mike H and C. Sollers in Dundee and by the evening we actually had 8" to a foot of visibility. C.Sollers got a 36" 15lber. I'm thinking of heading out this afternoon after my boys lacrosse game to either C&R some Stripers or C&E some White Perch. The crabs will be here before you know it. That water by CIPP is 62 - Ain't that warm enough??[grin]

Fished yesterday on the beach at SPSP. They was about 2-3 feet of vis and lots of small branches and other stuff floating by on the ebb tide. The fish didn't seem to mind.

Made first run of the season today (Sun 4/10) from Sandy Point to Annapolis City Dock. Water clarity terrible, bay had mud color tint to it. Scattered debris, but nothing like from last years hurricanes. Was very surprised to find 52 degree water, crabs should start wiggling soon!!!! Didnt see any working birds or schools of baitfish. Nothing of interest on the fishfinder as well.

Was out yesterday. We left Kentmorr (about 5 miles south of the BB) and has to travel about 25 miles south to get in clear water. We ended up down near CCNPP.

There is a guy on the Chesapeake Angler board posting satelite PICs. Here's one of the threads:
