I don't know if any of you saw the Alaskan crab fishing show on the discovery channel last night, but WOW.
I wanna go do it, this October...who wants to go with me? Think about it...5 days, 30-40,000 payday, and you can say that you have worked the most extreme commercial fishing job that there is. Makes the swordfisherman look like Pvssies!!!
Yeah Right!!!! The first 20 foot wave that crashed over the side of the boat, then turned to ice?????..... you would find me in the fetal position, in the cabin, sucking my thumb[tongue][grin][grin]

You aint kidding!! I wonder what we would get for an hours pay? Cause that's about how long I would make it if I was lucky. Of course i'm gonna eat 500 dollars of crab legs while i'm out there so I guess I would end up with a bill when we made it back to the dock! [tongue] FJ

Don't worry, it's a series like "American Chopper". You basically missed the introduction. Comes on every Tuesday at 9pm.[smile]

FJ, No BS....Every one of those crabs I saw going into the hold last night, had a stick of butter in one claw, and a cold beer in the other, to my eyes anyway[tongue]

If I were a hundred years younger, I'd be packin' my bags for the experience, fun, excitement, fright, $$,$$$.cc, etc.[grin]
That's a job that I could've done easily 30 years ago, but I probably wouldn't be around now to talk about it.[sad]
Whoever said that "Youth is wasted on the young." sure knew what he/she was talking about!!! Man, I'd love to gve that a try!

Jerry, I'm with ya!!
I was on the phone to my brother last night, and we were talking all sorts of sh!t. We were gonna go up there and show them boys what commercial waterman from the chesapeake are all about. Of course all i had to worry about then was sun poiisoning, and matbe a4 foot chop a few days.....not going overboard and dying from hypothermia within 2 minutes!!!!
I would do it though, if I didn't have a little boy that would be devasted if Dad didn't come home. I wouldn't trade my life now for all the tea in china, but.....OHHHH to be 20 again[tongue]
