Got the traps wet today with help from Slipsinker. Crabbed outgoing tide from about 7 until 10 with not a single crab caught. Launched at Ragged Point Marina and crabbed 8-10', then moved to 3-5' then moved from Little Choptank to the mouth of the creek that runs up into Ragged Point Marina 4-8'. Waited up to about a half hour before checking traps. Didn't have temperature indication so don't know what that was. Saw a few commercial guys working trotlines. A few pots were also out.

Looks like it will be several more weeks. Good to meet Slipsinker, another fine example of what makes this board great!!

That spot is historically good from Memorial Day thru Independence Day. Before then, few crabs, if any. After that, Jellies galore, seaweed extrordinaire, 4.75" crabs up the Kazoo! If there are any crabs in that creek, you have zero chance of laying a trot line. The comm. Gal has that place tied up real good with lines made to exact lengths for all the best lays. Anyplace else is taken over by other comms. and waterfront residents. There are places for rings and traps, but not in the best depths.

Commercial guys aren't catching to many yet. Have not noticed to many pots out in the bay this year usually they are loaded all around Popular Island.

Thanks for the enjoyable morning Dave and great meeting you. The weather was perfect and so was the company. Sometimes it's not just all about catching. Thanks again and look forward to the next. time.[smile]

the north east coves and creeks will warm up a lil earlier then the rest and sometimes the activity will be a little earlier in those areas.....old bass fishing habit thats helped a couple times when my other spots went cold
