View Full Version : 3 bushels
Spoke with a lady that I work with this morning, she told me her husband was out yesterday trotlining and caught 3 bushels. She wasn't sure where but is going to find out for me. Will post an update when I find out. I know they live somewhere around rockhall.

commercial license, or LCC ( limited crab catcher) which is also a form of commercial license. With these licenses, there is no limit to how many crabs you may keep.

No wonder the crab population is bad.. Nothing against anyone, but thats alot of crabs for 1 person.. Thats ok.. though,, plenty of crabs to go around i guess.

Mike...
Alot of people supplement their retirement income by getting an LCC License, and catching crabs for a living. Look at all of the restaurants, and crabhouses that are getting crabs from the gulf, and Florida, and you will soon realize the insatiable appetite for crabs in this area. If a fellow wants to use his LCC license to make a few dollars, then who can blame him
I seriously doubt the trotlining population has much to do with the decline in the crab population. I think if you look at runoff, poor water quality, and loss of habitat, you will find larger to fish to fry, when it comes to blame on the decline of the crab population.

Heard a couple of trotliners talking on the radio this morning. Believe they might have been in the Little Choptank area. One mentioned getting a bushel yesterday but very poor this morning. Both were complaining that it has been the poorest start in a number of years. Lots of reasons I guess but the water has been hovering around 60 for some time. Still kinda cold yet.
