Hi I went crabbing Friday in my boat ,with Brian .Great weather & things started out great went over the traps & got 9 big jumbos. The second time over we got 7 big ones half way through. Then the motor just quit running & hasen't ran since. We were lucky to have my trolling motor on the back,That's what I thought since it only ran for 3 min & stoped. Boy what a day.Crabs were biting but no way to catch they . I bet they enjoyed the next 3 hours eating our bait down to the bone & no one bothering them.We were lucky to know another crabber that lives in the area . He was out crabbing too. He came to our rescue. Thank goodness. The whole day turned out to be a bust. I guess I have to look at it this way, once the motor gets repaired & I get back out there those big old crabs will be a little bit fatter after eating most of our bait
Red boat & Normmag are crabbing in bad luck so far this year . His boat leaked bad first time out even though we caught crabs . now this time the motor on my boat quit. I sure hope the next time out we will have better luck

sorry about your bad luck! At least you have the whole season to recover.where did you crab? What depth did you have your traps?
Better luck next trip.

We crabed the Pax river & had our traps in 15-18 feet of water nothing shallow. We used chicken necks. I hope to have things fixed up by the end of next week

[smile][smile]Talking about that bad luck; I heard that Brian is just his nickname; his real name is "Jonah". [smile][smile]
