Welcome to the board Doc.
The crabs being caught now in the rivers are prolly those that lingerd too long in the fall, and dug in when it got cold. Not at all a fuke to catch a few now, but the best is yet to come...

Dukerman,
Welcome!
Crab and post your results here! Come to Snoodfest, and you will fall right into place.
Everyone on this board is "good people"
Except me! I am questionable.
Where do you primarily crab and how have you done this year and in the past???

Thanks for the Welcome!
I started crabbing last year mainly on the Severn with a friend of mine he had boat etc... Did fairly weel last July and Aug most times two bushells.
Bought my own boat this year. I put in @ Back Creek which is off of main creek and the Bodkin. Researxh for me this year, The Severn would be an hour run at least for my boat, the Magothy is about 1/2 hour. Going to scout out where I put in and go from there see how things go.

Bodkin holds crabs and so does the southern Patapsco!
