Crabbed the Tred on Sunday, from about 8:00 to 4:00 with 24 topless traps. It was a day to test out the new traps, get all the kinks worked out and spend some time on the water with my sons. We moved around a bit and had our best run around 3:30 (near low tide). The water temperature, as shown on the depth finder, was approaching 69 degrees F. We found most of our crabs in about 7’ of water. Ended up with about 2 dozen keepers, tossed back maybe 4 or 5. Although not the most productive day, it was enjoyable and the crabs were tasty. The kids had a blast and I can’t wait to get out again. Looks like the cool weather is behind us, so it won’t be long now. [grin]
[excited]I was there yesterday morning! we got about 3/4 of a bushel and let me tell you they were good!!!

Well I couldn’t wait to get out and did again on Sunday. It was a bit like navigating a mine field trying to avoid all the floats while running down the river. We crabbed the same area with much better results. This time we took home a bushel. Tossed back a few small ones and one mature female. Ended up with quite a few nice size crabs, some were white bellies, most were not. We, my wife and three sons, really didn’t work the traps that hard. We spent time swimming, and exploring. Truly a wonderful time on the water and the crabs were tasty.
