Crabbed for a few hours today, down visiting some friends. Saw a few comm guys getting there share I myself only got about 3/4 bushel. Talked to a few more guys at the ramp who did fairly well. Why is it that there are some real A-Hole comm guys down in these parts. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced them. Things seem to be getting slightly better, shouldnt be too much longer

There are some real idiots down there!! One guy last year threatened me for being too close to him (we were 100yds away)
But we were ruining his life, he even threw his small crabs at us!!
He spent hours telling us how much of a bad boy he was!!
If he only new he was talking smack to 2 of the US Navy's warriors!!!. After a while it got to be a joke for us! and we started laughing at him that seemed to work!

Seal, same sort of thing happened with me. These Tred comm guys are gonna get what they deserve. Someday some crazy will pull a gun on one and end up shooting him. I know they are doing this for a living of some sorts, but they do not own the water and they do not have to be DH's. Anyone else been crabbing this area, Has it been hit or miss?

I had a friend have his line cut by one of those guys a few years back. They are vicious.

I had a threat that he was gonna cut my line and I told him go right ahead but your day of crabbing wont be much more fun, he turned the other way.

My husband and I had a slight run in with an older commercial guy just down river from the Oxford ferry in the Tred. Yes he was not pleasant to deal with. We moved shortly thereafter. Even with his attitude we were not rude back to him. Our young cousin had the same run in and the old man said he was going back across the river for his gun. We told our cousin that he probably was talking out of his arse at the time. Funny thing is our cousin is a commercial guy too. What is wrong with those guys? Just ignore them and do your thing.

We should be down in the Tred this weekend - so if you commercial guys are reading this - play nice with the people in the Scout boat.[smile]

those guys down there are a different breed.......at one time, some of the commercial guys were known as the bellevue mafia - no kidding.

honestly, sometimes i don't blame them for having an attitude....i couldn't begin to count the number of times that i've seen recs lay their lines over those guys. i'm not accusing any of you guys, but it definitely happens.

on the other hand, they do tend to be overly aggressive......i just keep my distance and don't worry about them.

if you want to crab the tred avon, there's a little less boat traffic down around oxford/bellevue. for the most part, the commercial guys are crabbing the same lays every time i see them.....i've never had problems finding a lay down that way.
