Somedays, are just not worth getting out of bed.

After crabbing at the Pax yesterday with a good friend, and subsequently getting our butts kicked by the crabs and other crabbers, I have to get this phone call today at around 3:00.

"Rod, its mike"

"Hey Mike, Whats Up"

"Hey... were calling to say thanks for telling us about that piece of shoreline on the pax that you usually do fairly well at. We layed 30 traps in there today, and had 2 bushels of crabs in about 5 hours"

"Mike.......(Long pause)........Go #%!& yourself"

Click.....hmmmm my cell phone must have lost signal.

The only place I didn't try yesterday produces 2 bushels for a guy that has never crabbed with anything other than a chicken neck and string, before he met me.

Yesterday We threw everything but dynamite at them and couldn't produce 2 DOZEN!!!!!!! 2400' feet of trotline, and traps, and all sorts of experience on my boat, and this is the thanks!!

Life is not fair sometimes......Oh well, I want more of it everyday though[grin]

By this weekend, the Pax should be the place to be.....which is fitting....due to other obligations...I can't crab this weekend....did I say, Life is not fair?

I'd be bent too. Copious consumption of alcholic beverages sometimes helps in this situation.

Is it legal to use 2400' of trotline on one boat?

Come on Saturday!! It's a real shame about that wedding, but we'll be sure to let you know if they're biting. [angel] FJ

This is why I go to the places I have caught crabs at before. Like this recent past weekend, I just went down to the community peir using handlines and caught enough to eat.

Sometimes the basics and a first timers good luck rules.

Butthead,
I have no doubt you will bounce back from this slump.

Hawg - The "drowning my sorrows" process is well underway

Mikie - I have a commercial license

FF - I actually tried two of my hotspots, but forgot about this one until I was hot, tired, and pissed off at the crabs.

Fat Jimmy - I can crab in a suit and tie. Be careful, I may just come down there and lay a line right on top of you. I'm just not sure if my white waterman's boots will go with my slacks.

Burch - Thanks for the vote of confidence.
