Well finnally got pops to stop traveling for a weekend s we could try some crabbing at our early spot down at broomes island ... well got there and no one around thats unusal .. ;aunched boat and off we went .. laid traps at the mouth of a cove and let them sit for 15 min ... (30 pots) so first run couldn't belive it we ended up with almost 4.5 dozen was like great wqe'll be home in an hour well lasted for 2 more runs and just stopped nothing picked up and moved in the creek water temp was 80 and nothing moved back out and tried another spot did farrley well about a 4 dozen in six runs wel buy this time we were out of bait and deciede to call it a day so it was a great first trip and ended up with 3 busshel aof ceabs few throw backs all in all great trip .. best part was got to spend it with dad ( damm retirement messes with my time with him he seems too travel in a moments notice ) But I guess he deserves it

4.5 dozen in one run must be some kind of record, sounds like you spanked em.

Must be a record - that's an "Average" of 1.866 crabs per trap for the first run of 30.

This weekend on the PaX I was getting two crabs per ring sometimes and while trotlining I got runs of crabs on adjacent baits, 3 or 4 in a row, often missed the last one and he got knocked off by the hook--it was like it used to be in the good old days a decade or so ago.
I really hope this keeps up!!!
