Went back and forth with either going to the Pax or to the Wye. Even when I woke up I wasn't sure. Started the van and decided on the Wye. Was at my usual spot and managed to get two bushels of 7", 8" and some close to 9" with 3,600' of snood line. Threw about a bushel of papershell back, and they were big, ugh! I would say about two more weeks before they make it up in the river.

Not knowing where you were, the "Wye" is a big place, with three branches, but you did say about two more weeks to get up in the river. We can validate that by saying they weren't up in the branch we crabbed early AM Saturday.
First time for everything, and this was first time we've ever been skunked anywhere in or near the "Wye".
Really a slow start this season for sure. Though it was gorgeous to be out there - birds, turtles, fish jumping everywhere, a decent breeze to keep bugs away, just plain nice. It's the beauty of the place that filled our basket this weekend.
