I went to oc last weekend and jst thought i would give it a try with a few of my freinds i set 12 traps and 3 time down the line i cought a dozen keepers. I went fishing as well but i dident do so good there and only cought a skate.

You can always crab at Chrisfield in between catching croaker. I have done very well in the Ammensex just outside the canal that goes by Janes Isl St Park. Look for the channel edges or flats in 4-7 feet--there are lots of nice crabs down there.

We crab the lower Chincoteague bay and the crabbing there is very good (a lot of sponge crabs though) Since the Chincoteague bay is just an extension of the coastal bays in OC I would think the crabbing would be good there as well. It's only 23 miles to OC inlet by water to our place...

What about if you will be boatless while there. Anyone recommend a good spot to throw out 20 traps from shore?

Wow...there is a spot on the west side of the 90 bridge I have seen people crabbing...and if you don't mind driving take 113 south to Public Landing on the Chincoteague bay..its about 25-30 minutes away....other than those I am not really sure of any other place. There is a small pier bayside at like 12 street but it might be private. We used to crab there when I was a kid but that was forever ago...

There's a public pier at the end of 10th street bayside. Easy free parking but I'd get there at daybreak as it fills up fast. it's a popular spot to flounder fish.

How about either Isle of Wight over the Rt 90 bridge or South Pt boat ramp toward Assateqaue?Anyone ever try either of those places with traps?
