Sorry for the late post but I just go back in town. Friday's Crew on the New Run-Off consisted of my nephew Joey, Brother Joe, Buddy Mike and Bob. Let me start with a quick boat review.

If your standing against the solon window you will need a GPS to find your way to the transom. This is the largest cockpit I have ever fished on. From port to starboard it is a quick cab ride. This thing is huge. The ride was smooth and enjoyable. We found ouselves heading into a headsea in the morning and had no problem negotiating the big rollers along with some minor sloppy pockets where the seas just weren't put together.

Trolling was quiet with very little wash to contend with. Their were clear blue pockets on every turn and straight ahead.

Fishing - Sometimes I wonder how its is we can travel 57 miles stop at what the captain says is the spot and then drop the lines and not get a bite all day. THAT DIDN"T HAPPEN. Brian slowed the Run-Off down and said get them over their right below us. One line out - one line down. Get the 30lb yft tuna in the boat and set out one line then the second and bam the first one went down again. Now am I getting a little upset. How are we gonna get multiple hooks ups if we cann't get multiple lines out , We had THREENBOX before I got the camera out. We had consistant bites most of the day and ended with of bunch fish from 20-50lbs and had just as many bites, fights and missed shots at the boat. We also had one 50lb fish attack our squid teaser at least 7 times until Marty put the WHAMMMMY on him. He came loose on Marty but was still hungry enough to get hung up on the short rigger. The 50lber met a cold steel greeting card before taking a cool nap in the BOX. The forcast was calling for 45knot winds and lightening. It was abosuletly awesome flying home in ghostly flat calm seas, Steel grey skies and barely a breath of air even though we were running over 25 knots. But staring back in the distance we were being chased by a lightening storm that would have put the millineum firework show to shame. The weather was right on. This storm chased us for 57 miles and didn't catch us until we tied up at the dock. Notice I said we went out 57 miles and came home 57 miles. Captain Brian worked the same bait ball, tuna school and ledge all day long. I would be suprised if we moved more then 1/2 mile the entire day. I think we wore a trail in the ocean.

The next day my brother and I were honored to be invited to the christening of the Run Off. We met Billy the owner and much of the friends and family of the crew. It was obviously a special emotional moment for The entire Run Off Family and we were honored to be a part of it.

Enough of the sap. Stay tuned to Visit WAHOONBOX's world. I am speechless and quite frankly a little concerned. I think he needs a little assistance. I thought he was kidding about being the nite maintanence guy at Taco King. I feel bad for the poor fellow. Video to follow shortly.
