Electronics question

I need to get a Video sounder for the tower. I currently have a Sitex CVS 210 on the lower helm and I would like to install a video sounder on the tower. All my electronics are integrated. I have a furuno Pathfinder R80 Radar, Garmin 2006C GPS Map, Raytheon ST5000+ Auto Pilot down low and I have a Garmin Chart Plotter 520 and STS6001 Raytheon Auto pilot head up top. I would like to integrate a quality video sounder with a better chart plotter and temperature gage up top. Can anyone shed some light on some quality units.

I am also looking for two Electric reels. These will be used for Dredge Rods. I have seen the Cheaper Electra-mate and the more expensive Krystal. The will really only be used for Dredges rods and maybe the occasional Tilefish try. Can anyone give me a suggestion on Electric reels.

pretty sure u meant Raymarine R80 and not Furuno[tongue]

The new E120 Raymarine is super bright and awesome detail - for an all in one unit up top it would be hard to beat.

Thanks Tommy - You are correct it is Raymarine not furuno. My bubble is quickly getting busted. My electronics are only 4 yrs old and they are saying that their is nothing available for duel station capability. They said that back then( sounds like 50 yrs ago) They didn't consider duel station capability.

So I started looking at the E120. But my antenna may not be compatible. and if it is, the upgrade will almost be as much as a new one. So if I wanted the e series I would pretty much have to upgrade my entire package because the transducer would have to be swapped as well.

I think I may have to stay with the lower unit and get a long piece of string and a rock as my upper unit. [grin] Either that or tilt my lower unit upward and cut a hole in my tower. Now their is an idea[grin][grin][grin][grin]

I love my color Raymarine up top but make sure you spend the bucks on the ducer & fairingblock. I have the Airmar 1000kw & matching block placed just right & it never loses signal even when running hard in the rough or deep till way way overboard. With DSM 250 black box the detail is awsome. kinda afraid of that. Networking is fairly new in the marine arena and when they introduce stuff is usually isn't compatible with previous generation - once everything is Ethernet it should all interconnect easily.

Arkster, how do you like the CVS210? I picked up an old 208 (crt 600w) for $100 and I'm amazed thus far at its performance. Is the 210 1kw LCD? You gonna sell it? [grin] I buy everyones old junk!

Terp - I think my ideas are getting squashed because I would have to swap the whole thing. Too much money. I would rather spend it on fuel - I think I might need that to get out their.
